So, Which Machine?

The V90 and X90 are machine kits. You will have to assemble them and adjust them to gain the precision that you need. They work well for woods and plastics. The design and part choice in these machines make them more rigid than the Shapeoko type machines, but they require some level of craftsmanship to get them dialed in. You can do amazing things with these machines for their price point.

The Comet, Asteroid, Meteor, & Nebula are fully assembled and tested units. They ship by freight carrier and are ready to make parts right out of the crate. The fully supported rails and aluminum & steel construction make them far more capable machines for light industrial applications.

What is Digital Manufacturing?

Digital manufacturing is the use of an integrated, computer-based system comprised of simulation, three-dimensional (3D) visualization, analytics and various collaboration tools to create product and manufacturing process definitions simultaneously.

3D Printer vs CNC Router

A 3d printer uses an additive process to build up layers of plastic to create an object. A CNC router uses a rotary cutting tool to carve away at a block of material - a subtractive process. 3D printing is great for small objects, but the plastic filament is expensive and the finish is rippled, plus 3D printing is challenged by the issues created from thermal compression while the plastic is cooling. CNC routing is far better at larger objects, and the quality of the finished part is much more precise. You can actually make sellable commercial products with a CNC router.

In fact, we have MANY successful businesses for customers. Businesses with unique or custom cut products. Businesses who do not have the square footage for a full size machine. Or perhaps they want several small machines running multiple parts at the same time in the same space as a full sized machine.

We have businesses using our machines to make wooden bow-ties, duck calls, custom furniture, pickle-ball paddles, speaker cabinets, quad-copter parts, gun holsters, custom guitars, skateboards, pool cues, cabinets, signs, and on and on and on.

Since the financial meltdown of 2008, we have sold machines and control systems to Intel, Microsoft, Apple, Sun Microsystems, Cornell University, MIT, Harvard, Johns Hopkins, Carnegie Melon, U of I, Auburn University, Georgia Tech, Penn State, Rose-Hulman, LSU, UCLA, UC San Diego, UC Irvine, UC Santa Cruz, Minnesota State, Michigan State, University of Texas, USC, Embry Riddle, Los Alamos National Laboratory, Stratasys, 3M, Dow, Siemens, Microsoft, Cafe Press, Hurley, ALPS, Asurion, US Navy, US Army, NIST, NASA, Disney, Wrigley, Akamai, Ovation Guitars, Honeywell, General Electric, Northrup Grumman , Lockheed Martin, SpaceX, Boeing, Caterpillar, John Deere, and many, many more.

It blows ours minds the amount of creativity that is coming out of America right now. The recent "Great Recession" will go down in history, simile to the "Great Depression" in that the PEOPLE of the USA pulled themselves up from it...

...and came out on the other side, STRONGER.
