Are those holes for set screws holding those rails on?
(Edit) I just looked at my machine - never mind. I see those are for the router plate.

Re: Computer locking up/crashing on my Asteroid
Another thought - is there a ferrite core on the cord for the router? Maybe add one regardless if you can't chase the problem down otherwise.

When was the last time you changed brushes on it? Probably not the issue, but worth inspecting them.

What a journey!
I bought my Probotix to make models for silicone molding, resin casting, etc, so there's a fair bit of down time. To keep it moving, I worked on my take on a trend, making a couple of big improvements in the process (quick change fabric and detached features/designs). Lots and lots of technical chal...

Crazy Idea (attn: Probotix team)
I'm putting this here rather than a support request as it may help others in the future. The combination of a lack of space as well as moving toward a production flow in which I could work around gravity, and with all axes being built on lead screws, can these machines be mounted vertically and oper...

Re: New To CNC , Sydney Australia
I have an Asteroid. Best value for the money in desktop CNC machines, easily. While there may be more robustly built desktops out there, at $8-10k for a similar sized unit with comparable capabilities, those are just overkill to me. I've had one for a good while now, and I couldn't be happier. I use...

Re: Recessed work area for more Z height.
It was actually fine until we had to move the router down and compensate the carriage up. He was watching it and saw the collision on its way. Then the errors after dropping the router, essentially creating an offset. Some calculations later, and it was about 1mm too much, and the file was in proces...

Re: Recessed work area for more Z height.
It sure has worked out great. We even had an instance where the top of his model was going to clip the moving portion of the Z carriage. Paused the file, lowered the router (did a puck on table as is and a puck after lowering to get the change), then ran into a warning of retract being beyond max Z,...
