Re: Pistol Grip Files

Thanks DPOA! Mostly 1911 grips. They are my favorite handguns. I would eventually like to be able to make most of the popular handgun grips!

Pistol Grip Files

Good afternoon guys, I have had an interest, for a long time now, in creating and making pistol grips. It's one of the reasons I bought my machine. I have a good line on some really nice exotic woods and other materials. But as I have started my searches for information, particularly in files for CN...

I spray painted the engraving and sanded it off after it dried, leaving only the paint in the engraved parts. Then I stained it.

LSU plaque for a friend

Hey guys, my first project on here from this newby to the craft. It turned out better than I thought it would. Three tool paths and 3 different tools, and I didn't mess it up! It's a birthday present for a friend. I'm starting to figure this stuff out! I love it! :D

Re: Work piece anchored to Zero coordinate of table.

Good morning guys, I guess when all else fails, go to the users manual! I found it and went to the Coordinate Section, section 3.5.3. It said if your machine get's lost, this is how to get it back to the default coordinates. Move the machine origin with G53 G0 X0 Y0 Z0 Clear any G92 offset wit...

Re: Work piece anchored to Zero coordinate of table.

In VCarve job setup, is your X/Y datum set up to the center of the deign or the lower left? If it is in the center, then you are going to have to physically position your material on the spoilboard where it will fit and then re-zero X/Y. I wouldn't necessarily do that especially if using G54 coordi...

Re: Work piece anchored to Zero coordinate of table.

Thanks for the reply Hanna. I went in and looked at set up. My "use offset" is not checked. I sent the file to Pete Odell last night and he looked at it said everything looked ok to him. He sent me a file to try and when I plugged it in and brought it up, it did the same thing. It anchors ...
