Re: New operating system

Not sure if this will be helpful since I am not sure what controller you have... but I have a pre-Unity controller. When I first got my machine, I anticipated hard drive issues (my CNC is in an uninsulated garage... and I have already had a couple times the hard drive wouldn't spin up because of how...

Re: Triple Edge Finder

That being said, if you get one and figure it out before me, let me know what your process is! It really isn't an issue with Linux or the OS. LinuxCNC can easily do this, and I think Probotix is working on a touch plate (and there are other posts in the forums talking about their use). It is just a ...

Re: Triple Edge Finder

Bill has posted on his Facebook page that he has no experience setting it up with LinuxCNC.

That being said, I have bought one, and have found scripts out there to use such a probe for centering and touch off online. I have not, however, had the opportunity to wire it up and try it yet.

Re: Router upgrades

Hello,

I just purchased a VFD and motor as well (not water cooled, air cooled in my case) that I'd like to add.

What kind of software changes did you have to make in order to be able to control the VFD from LinuxCNC?

Thanks!

Re: BAD COMPANY

Sandman92k, I am just going to jump in here quick.. I am glad you are getting some help, but wanted to run through the documentation issue. Looking at the Unity controller, it states right on the page what is in the box: http://www.probotix.com/CNC-CONTROL-SYSTEMS/CNC-CONTROLLER/3-AXIS-KITS/UNITY-CN...

Re: Photo V Carve

When I was working with Vectric about it, they suggested I do whatever work in PhotoVCarve I was going to do, then import it into Aspire (which I also have) to get around the post processor issue. Do you have any of the other Vectric products by chance?

Re: Best way to home machine

If you are hitting the home button, it sounds like what it should be doing, at least with Z. It should also be moving in X and Y until it hits limits, then (usually) goes to the center of your spoil board. That is so it can identify where in space it currently is. beltramidave is correct from there....

Re: How many T Tracks should I need?

Hello, Thanks for the idea! I actually came to that conclusion the other night. My t-track isn't long enough for the material I threw on it the other day, and I want to replace the spoil board anyway so I screwed the material down into the spoil board. Then it dawned on me... I could just put a shee...
