Be advised those who are replacing ProboStep drivers.

If you have the small enclosure you can barely "shoehorn" in ONE Mondostep 4.3 driver. Not two.

The X3_ conversion diagram indicates your setup 2 is correct.

The first picture looks like DumpsterCNC delrin couplers which are threaded on the acme lead screw. The ones from amazon are not threaded.

Len, Please correct me if I'm wrong. I don't want to steer someone the wrong way. I cut aluminum on my V90. Up to 1/4" successfully

Main considerations:
Good tight machine
Correct bit
speeds and feeds critical
air and lube
about .015/pass
speed control (Super PID)

Keystone Chuck, You are correct Using Vcarve to make pieces longer (or wider) than your bed. I use this feature to make 38 inch rotor blades as the cutting length of my bed is 17.4 inch max. I have a V90 which I've had for about 5 years.
I am a USB CNC user running a Mk3. My primary CAD is Moi3d and use Vcarve Pro
Among other things I make Model airplanes. My focus now is on Rotor blades for Autogyros
