Pick up in a couple weeks

Postby sawnsand » Sat Feb 20, 2016 6:41 pm

Ordered a Meteor. March 4 for pick up and it will be tough to wait..
... picked up a few things to build a table/gurney for it
Thanks goes to Skelly for inviting me over to his place to see his setup, sure helped making the decision easier...

Hey Sawsand!

Just tidied up the structural aspect of your meteor and it is coming along great. I am sure you will be very pleased with your new machine when it is finished and in your possession on the 4th. I can't wait to see what you make!

Thanks for your order! There are some specifications on building a table for a Meteor in the front of the quick start guide here:

you may find the information helpful while you are clearing space and setting up for delivery. In the meantime please don't hesitate to call us if you have any questions. Feel free to send us pics of what you make and we would be happy to share on our social media.

Thanks!!!
:D

There is something that I can't seem to locate on the website. Can I get the lengths of the various supplied cables?

Hey Sawnsand,
I just asked the gentleman that assembles the cable chains and he said that they vary in size but for your build it should be right about 8 feet and all the wires come sheathed together until about the last foot when they separate back into the individual wires. So, your meteor should have just about 8 feet of wire coming off the front right of the machine.

Thank you,
I may have asked before, ...will the Dovetail/Joinery fixture be installed on the end opposite the e-stop button?

It typically isn't. We usually put the smaller section(removable portion) of the spoil board to the front of the machine. The E-stop is located on the front as well. Shoot me a quick call at 309-691-2643 and ask for Lance if that isn't going to work for you. I can see what I can do about switching it around possibly.

Here is a pic of the spoil board on and off. The supporting extrusion has 1/4 - 20 T-nuts to secure your media and for the hold downs you see in the bags on top of the back portion of the spoil board.
