Cutting Speeds and Feeds Resource?

Postby jdkerr » Sun Jan 17, 2016 12:44 pm

Just getting my v90 and have done some initial cuts, and they look pretty good. What I am wondering though is about optimum cutting feeds/speeds based on bit sizes.

Is there a particular resource available that allows for the specification of the type of material, bit details and gives optimum cutting feeds and spindle speeds?

Thanks.. John

Every manufacturer has their own proprietary geometries which dictate the settings, but here is a good place to start:
http://www.precisebits.com/tutorials/calibrating_feeds_n_speeds.htm

You should be able to contact your bit manufacturer to get the proper settings for the materials and bits you are using.

We resell bits from Precise Bits who's page is linked above.
Thanks!
