I have a Fireball x-90 which I have used without problems since I bought it from Probotix in July of 2014. However, throughout the time I have had it I have never been able to get it to cut accurately when doing 3D machining ( 2.5 D carving) beyond about 16 IPM. It is fine with profile cutting but even there, it seems happiest at about 25 IPM. Beyond these speeds, it loses steps or jumps along the Y or Z axis often ruining the piece, especially on 2.5 D cuts.

Does anyone have experience with this? I am using a USB-CNC controller that came from Probotix.

This is frustrating for me since any sort of carving takes forever. Thanks for any help you can offer.

That is a well known problem with the CNC USB Control Software. Downgrade to one of the older versions that we have posted on the wiki.

Andrej refused to fix the problem and instead insisted that we make everyone upgrade to his newer (non-open source) boards which apparently do not have the problem. Booooo.
