Tool change

Postby oldsinger » Thu Feb 02, 2017 4:17 pm

I'm running a program with two toolpaths but with different tools. Is there a way to program the g code to stop after the first path is run to let me change tools?

What software are you using to create your tool paths? Do you have a tool length sensor on your machine?

I'm using Vectric Vcarve pro. And yes, I have a tool sensor, which I haven't used yet because I don't know how and because it's not homed correctly

I would be more than happy to help you get your tool sensor issues fixed.

If interested, send me a PM with your phone number and a good time to call. I tried to put together a document to help as well, but this forum will not allow me to attach a pdf or doc file (or at least I am not smart enough to figure out how). PM me your email address and I will send it to you along with a crv file using multiple tools in one toolpath.

Do not post your phone number or email on the forum.

Will wait to hear from you.

Here is the tool sensor .doc file.

Thanks Pete for whatever you did.

Dave

EDIT: Removed file as the location for the tool sensor was incorrect! Will repost after fixing. Sorry

Re-posted document, again, as I had the setting of the tool sensor procedure wrong. Not responsible for incorrect information. Most information came from Wiki site.

Hope this helps.
