Another 45 degree alternative. This one has 3 tenons going into 3 slots. The slot side was cut with the board clamped at 45 degrees. The tenon side was cut clamped vertically. The 45 degree face on the tenon side was cut using the fluting toolpath in Aspire and a row of parallel lines. A 1/8" end mill was all that was used.

The last two joints I posted were samples to show one of my students some alternatives for how to build his final project. The project is a coffee table that could be mistaken for a truss bridge. Top shelf and bottom shelf connected by zig zagging panels intersecting the shelves at 45 degrees. Nothing better than a couple of samples they can examine to explain the options available when using the CNC. I suspect he'll opt for the first walnut example.
Most of the original joinery examples I've posted were created for the same reason. A few were solutions for my own projects.

This was a sample for a student that wanted to connect the legs of her project at 45 degrees. Variations of this stepped tenon joint should work at angles between 15 and 50 degrees from vertical so long as you have clearance for the chuck and router body when cutting the stepped mortise pockets and slots.

The tenon side was cut before the leg was tapered. It was clamped vertically on my Meteor.

Even the sloped sides were cut with the 3/16" end mill, using the fluting toolpath in Aspire.
