I just finished a sign that I thought I would share with the forum.
1X10.5X18 SPALDED SYCAMORE. Programmed in Aspire.
Cut with a 1/8" Flat End Mill at 100 IPM of course it slowed down to around 35 for the curves since I used a tolerance of 0.025".
The edge and stool were cut with a 0.5" 90deg V cutter and those were the first toolpaths cut.
Finished with MiniWax's Wood Sheen (water soluble gel stain and sealer and then sprayed with a satin clear finish from Lowes.
The main text is Comic Sans.

Here is a picture of the stand for the Weight Watchers Sign. The stand folds flat for storage.

Re: Sign 10.5X18
Can you explain more about the wood sheen process for the dark areas? do you apply and wipe off the letters?
I've seen badgers with paws the size of frying pans, that would rip your face right off!
Re: Sign 10.5X18
The wood sheen is a gel so it is thick.
I squirt it on the sign and rub it in all the depressions with a rag and on this sign I had to use a stiff brush to
get all the recessed areas dark. I wipe off the surface as soon as I can and leave the depressions with a heave coating of
wood sheen and let it soak in. After it dries, usually the next day, I give a light sanding which removes most of the stain
and leaves the depressions dark. Then I spray a clear finish on the surface.
I use the satin or low gloss finish.

Thanks for the great explanation! I will have to try the wood sheen products.
