Christmas Gifts

Postby KLWestfall » Mon Dec 19, 2016 11:25 pm

These are a few projects for Christmas.

Grandson is a Calgary Flames (NHL) fan so he got the clock. Just didn't have the hands on when I took the picture !

Tree is carved from a piece of Red Oak to a depth of .1". I stained it with a mixture of Vinegar and Steel Wool and it turned a beautiful silvery grey. Thrn sprayed with a Glacier non-yellowing satin poly stuff.

Second tree is the same, only I used a Cabernet Gel Stain for the colour.

I should clarify...

I stained the boards before I carved them and was pretty happy with the results. Nice crisp lines.

The clock was cut and then painted and then sprayed.
