Designed and Built in the USA (Not Rebranded Imports)
The EX Series CNC Router is designed, machined, built, and supported in the USA by PROBOTIX. This is not a rebranded import or a machine that arrives fully manufactured overseas and is simply labeled domestically. The motion platform, mechanical components, electronics integration, and system architecture are developed in-house with long-term serviceability and parts availability in mind.
This approach allows tighter quality control, meaningful technical support, and continued availability of components well beyond the initial purchase — something that is increasingly difficult with overseas-built machines that frequently change models and rely on short-lived or proprietary parts.

- Ball screw drive system: Aggressive pitch ball screws provide fast travel with excellent repeatability and high mechanical efficiency. Ballnuts typically outlast ACME nuts in demanding production environments and are better suited for sustained high-speed motion.
- Servo motor motion: Closed-loop servo motors deliver smooth acceleration, precise positioning, and reliable tracking on complex toolpaths. Combined with the ball screw drive system, some EX Series configurations are capable of rapid travel speeds up to 1,200 inches per minute (IPM), significantly reducing non-cutting time on larger jobs.
- Linear guide rails: Hiwin-style linear box rails increase rigidity and support consistent accuracy across the cutting area.
- Non-contact homing: Proximity sensors replace mechanical limit and home switches for long service life and dependable homing.
- Service-friendly architecture: A detachable Z-axis and rigid two-piece gantry uprights improve transport, installation, and future service or upgrades.
- Increased Z-axis travel: The EX platform typically offers approximately 8" of Z travel, compared to about 5" on lighter platforms, which is useful for thicker materials, taller fixtures, and specialty tooling setups.

Rear-Mounted Pneumatic Tool Bar for Automatic Tool Change
For machines equipped with an automatic tool change (ATC) spindle, the EX Series includes a rear-mounted, pneumatically actuated tool bar. Unlike fixed tool racks that permanently consume cutting area, this tool bar automatically deploys during tool changes and retracts out of the way during cutting, so you do not lose usable work envelope.
This design preserves the full working area of your cnc router while still providing the speed and convenience of professional automatic tool changes — a meaningful advantage for sheet processing, nested parts, and production workflows.
